Walgreens- hells yeah

Wallgreens:

Spent $42.85
Saved $78.15

Here are just a few things I bought (the best deals!)
2 packages of Laundry soap were $9.99/ea. paid $3.49/each (they were BOGO, and I had 2 $1/off q's)
4 bottles of Listerine (2 large, 2 small. The smalls were GWP packaged with the big ones) were 2/$9, paid $2/2 (I had 2 $2/off q's, plus I received a $3 Register rewards!)- So total- they were $1/each
4 free boxes of hair dye (two were $13.99, 2 were $9.99- Thanks to Brooke for the Clairol Q's!!)
'Smore's makings $6 (the chocolate and graham crackers were $2/6 and the marshmallows were FREE)- IMPULSE BUY!!!

I also scored a bunch of new Q's (thanks coupon fairy!!) and left a bunch I wasn't going to use.

I've already started the list of food we're going to cook in July for the All you contest- we have a pretty healthy selection of stuff in the cupboard already.  I reorganized it and did two freecycle postings to get rid of the icky stuff we weren't going to eat.  I think I am good without 2 cases of south beach bars.  I am barred out.

I'll try to get pictures of the cupboard and fridge tomorrow and the HBA stockpile.  I won't have to buy HBA for a while.  I'm not taking home deodorant unless it's free, and even then.. I'm good.   T is stocked on HBA probably for the rest of the year.

So Weds. begins living off of $50/week for food. I know we can do it.  We lived off of $25/week in May, so doubling it will be soo much easier!

BOGO Smoothies at Jamba Juice!

And it's valid until 7/21/09- WOO HOO!!

Ahh.. The joys of savings

52% savings for the shopping trip today.

The highlights included:

4 bottles free Baby Rays BBQ sauce (4 $1 off Q's)
2 free packages of Mission corn Tortillas (2 $1 off Q's- they were .75/package... .50 overage FTW)
2 bottles of Herdez Salsa for $1.49 ($2.99 each BOGO, 2/ .50 off Q's- one was doubled)
4 lbs of 93% fat free ground beef $4.25 (it's been split into 1lb packages and put into the freezer.

The store brand of frozen veggies were .99/bag, so I stocked up on those too.  $80 on groceries (after Coupons!) and we have enough meat and cupboard food for probably 2-3 weeks.

Tomorrow I will be buying fruit and veg after work and hitting up target or Wags for HBA.

**Helpful tip**- Don't buy HBA (home bath accessories- shampoo, detergent, ziplocks, etc) at the grocer.  The markup is OMG insane.  Instead, visit target or walgreens or CVS.  Or walmart if you are diehard shopper- WARNING- WALMART DOESN'T ACCEPT INTERNET PRINTED COUPONS!!!

Our fav. brand of laundry soap is $9.99 a jug at Vons. At Walgreens it is usually $6.00, most of the time it's BOGO, so that's only $3 a bottle!  Recently I found coupons online for them, and they ended up being $1.50/bottle!

AGAIN, Shampoo, hair color, razors all have an INSANE markup on them at the grocer.  It is worth the extra trip to the drug store (shop while you are getting your prescriptions filled).

Take a look at your local drugstore circulars online before you decide which store to pick.  I prefer Walgreens because they have in store coupons that you can combine with manufacturer coupons.  Also the store closest to my home is brightly lit and clean.

Vons has some great deals for the next 3 days!

Check out your local paper today or Vons.com (http://www.vons.com/ifl/grocery/Weekly-Specials) for the 3 day sale flyer.

Some of the great deals include .99 Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce (there was a $1/off Q in the paper a month or so ago- free sauce- WOO HOO!).  There are few other great deals too!

Remember- all the coupon websites re-set and add new Q's on the 1st of each month (thats Weds), and there won't be any coupon inserts in the paper on  7/4/09 because it's a holiday!

Happy summer savings!

Back!

Sorry, I haven't been posting.  I'm back!

Here are some saving ideas/tips.

www.coupons.com right now has a $5 off $25 purchase at Rite Aid.

Here's a tip for eating out on the cheap: Restaurant.com can be a tremendous savings.  They discount gift certificates to local area restaurants across the country.  The certificates aren’t completely free - there is usually some sort of stipulation around them, like “Spend $35 and get $25 off” and you bought the certificate for $4, so you really wound up spending $14.Get a Free 2009 Entertainment Book When You Reserve Your 2010 Edition!
