I went shopping: Target

Can it really be called shopping if my OOP was $0.00?

Thanks to some blog I read (and I can't remember which one), I was able to score free Activia yogurt.

This week it's 2/$4.  There is a $2/2 target coupon available on Target.com, and in the 2/15/12 SS there is a $1/1 Q.

We bought 2 Activia Light in strawberry.  I even brought my handy reusable bag, but because my OOP was zero, I didn't receive the 5 cent bag credit. Oh well.  Free is rad too.

If you didn't get the 2/15/11 SS insert for whatever reason, Coupons.com has a $1/1 Activia 4-pack (use Zip code 84121)

REMEMBER: At Target you can stack a Target store coupon and a manufacturer coupon!

I went Shopping: Drugstores

I don't really play the drugstore game, however, I read over on HotCouponWorld that the CVS machines were printing out the ECB's from beauty club purchases (you accrue cash back based on your purchases and once a quarter the little machine spits out ECB's!).  I didn't think I had purchased anything at CVS, but what the heck... Free money!

Turns out, I received an ECB for $1.00!  Not too bad, especially since I don't really frequent CVS.  I used my $1.00 ECB and 2 .25 off Dawn coupons to buy two bottles of Dawn.  It is on sale this week for .88/bottle.  After ECB and coupons, my OOP was $.32!  I came home and filled up the large bottle on the sink board, and stashed the extra bottle away.  Since all small bottles of Dawn are on sale, the Olay Hand Renewal is also on sale for .88/bottle.  Match that up with the .50 off coupon from yesterday's P&G insert and you are paying only .38/bottle!  I think i may go back today and pick a couple up!

Next I headed across the street to Rite Aid.  I received a coupon for a free box of John Freida hair color, redeemable only at Rite Aid.  Thankfully, they had a large selection, which included my color! OOP: $0!

Not a bad shopping trip!

I went shopping: Wal*Mart

After cruising some internet forums, looking for some free stuff (after coupons) at Wal*mart, I scooped up some coupons and packed up the Little Man.

We went a local Wal*Mart I had not been to in years.  It has a full service grocery store in it.

[caption id="attachment_1419" align="alignleft" width="398" caption="All this for only $6.30!"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1421" align="alignleft" width="273" caption="Check out all of those coupons!All this for only $6.30!"][/caption]

Quite a few items were free!

All of the Potatoes were free.

  • Hash browns courtesy of a Free item coupon in All You Magazine.

  • Mashed Potatoes were $.98, I paired them with a $1.00 off coupon that is available online. I received .02 overage which was applied to my balance.

The rolls were free.  I contacted Sister Schubert with a question, and they sent me a free product coupon.

The Torani syrup coupon ($1.00/1) is still available to print at Coupons.com. I use about a teaspoon in my coffee along with creamer.

I'm now hooked on La Creme coffee creamer. It's a good thing I found a $1.00/1 coupon in last months' All You Magazine.  After the coupon, it was only .88!

And finally, the Hormel Snack tray.  There is all sorts of hubbub all over frugal blogs and twitter that it's only .98 after a coupon.  NOT TRUE. Prices at Wal*mart differ by region (lame), so in my area (and a lot of others from what I've been seeing in the backlash from this widely posted deal).  I printed the coupon, because I needed cheese and butter crackers for a recipe, and buying this tray would be cheaper than buying either ingredient separately. At my Wal*mart, the Hormel Snack trays are $5.48 before coupons.

Daily Deal Site: One Kings Lane $15 credit!

One Kings Lane is offereing a new account credit of $15.00. And... When you use the code get-inspired at checkout, you'll save $15 off of a $30 or more purchase.  That is a potential savings of $30!

I just looked over the website and they have a lot of really great items priced at or a few dollars above $30.00, including, some really nice ceramics from Tunisia.  For my historical recreation buddies, these would make great holiday gifts!

Shipping is not included in the offer, however shipping starts at just $4.95.  (CA residents have to pay sales tax)

I know I'll be doing some of my holiday shopping there.  I think my dad might be getting a tagine.

The joys of overage at Wal*Mart

I'm not a regular Wal*mart shopper, however, there was a great coupon this week available online that lead to some amazing overage*!

Coupons.com had a coupon for $6.00/2 Schick Disposable razors.  Walmart had packages of disposable razors for just $1.97 each, which leaves $2.06 in overage*!

Forgive me for the lack of photos, we're still unpacking and the cameras are MIA.

I used only 1 $6.00/2 per transaction.  I left the second coupon at home accidentally, so I *had* to go back.

Trip 1:

Razors   $1.97

Razors   $1.97

Snickers Bar  .74

Nature's Own Bread $2.98

English Muffins  $2.50 (Per Hubby's request!)

-$6.00/2 Razor Q (from Coupons.com)

- .74 Free Candy Q (From M&M/Mars Random Acts of Chocolate Facebook Campaign)

- 2.98 Free Loaf of Nature's Own Bread (BzzAgent Coupon)

Total .44

Tax .31 (Tax is on the pre-coupon amount in CA)

TOTAL OOP .75

Trip 2:

Razors   $1.97

Razors   $1.97

Garnier Hair color $6.47

Hazelnut Creamer $3.68 (we were out of creamer and we really needed it- so the overage was very helpful!!)

-$6.00/2 Razor Q (from Coupons.com)

- $7.99 (Free hair color coupon from Garnier Facebook campaign)

Total .1o

Tax .81 (Tax is on the pre-coupon amount in CA)

TOTAL OOP .91

*For those new to couponing, overage is when the amount of the coupon exceeds the price of the item and there is a negative balance.  Wal-Mart doesn't give cash back for overage, but you can use that negative balance to buy other items with little or no Out of Pocket.
