52% savings for the shopping trip today.
The highlights included:
4 bottles free Baby Rays BBQ sauce (4 $1 off Q's)
2 free packages of Mission corn Tortillas (2 $1 off Q's- they were .75/package... .50 overage FTW)
2 bottles of Herdez Salsa for $1.49 ($2.99 each BOGO, 2/ .50 off Q's- one was doubled)
4 lbs of 93% fat free ground beef $4.25 (it's been split into 1lb packages and put into the freezer.
The store brand of frozen veggies were .99/bag, so I stocked up on those too. $80 on groceries (after Coupons!) and we have enough meat and cupboard food for probably 2-3 weeks.
Tomorrow I will be buying fruit and veg after work and hitting up target or Wags for HBA.
**Helpful tip**- Don't buy HBA (home bath accessories- shampoo, detergent, ziplocks, etc) at the grocer. The markup is OMG insane. Instead, visit target or walgreens or CVS. Or walmart if you are diehard shopper- WARNING- WALMART DOESN'T ACCEPT INTERNET PRINTED COUPONS!!!
Our fav. brand of laundry soap is $9.99 a jug at Vons. At Walgreens it is usually $6.00, most of the time it's BOGO, so that's only $3 a bottle! Recently I found coupons online for them, and they ended up being $1.50/bottle!
AGAIN, Shampoo, hair color, razors all have an INSANE markup on them at the grocer. It is worth the extra trip to the drug store (shop while you are getting your prescriptions filled).
Take a look at your local drugstore circulars online before you decide which store to pick. I prefer Walgreens because they have in store coupons that you can combine with manufacturer coupons. Also the store closest to my home is brightly lit and clean.
