2012 Goals: Making Money!

This is just the first post in a series of posts about my goals for 2012.

Today's Post: My money making goals for 2012.  Since I am a stay at home mama, my income can be limited. My plan is to take advantage of as many affiliate/pay per click/deal sites and programs as I can to earn extra income, either with cash or gift cards. Since I don't play the drugstore game, I am not planning on (or counting on) any Register Rewards or Extra Care Bucks in 2012.  Occasionally I will shop at drugstores, but not often enough to count on those rewards as income.

This includes:

Endorse (We've earned over $200 since October 2011!!)  I love Endorse because I can use coupons, store cards and gift cards and still earn money.

Mypoints- Click on links in emails, take surveys, and earn points when you do online shopping. Redeem points for gift cards!

SBKC- send in your junk mail and earn points which can be redeemed for Gift Cards

Pampers Gifts to Grow (We earn points when we buy diapers and wipes! And there are always free points available online)

Global Opinion Panels (take surveys and do product studies for points, redeem points for $$ or Gift cards!)

PineCone Research- Take surveys and do product surveys.  Get paid $3.00 per survey!

Also, I plan on doing TONS of rebates!  My fav spot on the web for finding tons of rebates is Coupons, Deals, and More!

In addition, we take all of Little Man's outgrown clothes and some of the equipment he has outgrown to the baby resale shop and trade them in for clothes in the next size up and new equipment or toys. That means no OOP for us!

How do you plan to earn extra cash in 2012?

Rebates!

I love rebates.

A lot of people that I talk to think that rebate shopping can be a waste of time.  For me, rebates are a quick, easy way to obtain a free or cheap product that I might need or want to try.  Granted, you do have to pay for the cost of a stamp, currently .44 and wait 6-12 weeks for your money to come back, but, I have no problem waiting for money to come in the mail.

Most (99%) of all rebates tell you to submit the original receipt.  If you are doing multiples rebates, you must do multiple transactions during your shopping trip.

Check for a sale on your rebate items and use a coupon if one if available. Most rebates will give you the price before the coupon as the rebate- that is a true moneymaker!  If you shop at Walgreens or CVS, check to see if there is a RR or ECB offer for your item, it will be like getting paid twice!

Example of a rebate I did earlier this year:

  • $15.00 rebate when you buy $40.00 or more in Enfamil Formula.

  • 3 cans of Enfamil Newborn formula $23.55/each Regular Price

  • -3 $5.00 Formula Checks

  • -In store Walgreens coupon for $19.99 each (limit 3)

  • Total $44.97 with formula checks and in store coupon

  • After Rebate total out of pocket: $29.97 or just $9.99 each!

After your purchase the product(s) listed on the rebate form, complete each form per the directions, print neatly.  Include ALL of the needed items: UPC (bar code), receipt with the item and price circled, completed forms, and sometimes a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE) is required.

For a website with a comprehensive list of current rebates, check out Coupons, Deals, and More (my fav. blog for rebate links!) .

I keep track of my rebates.  I have an Excel Spreadsheet where I track my rebates, an example follows. Others track their rebates on a calendar.  They write on the calendar the date the rebate was mailed and 10-12 weeks later they mark on the calendar: “XX rebate $YY.00??” Once it is received it is marked off the calendar.

Right now I have 4 rebates I am waiting for, with a total of $25.00 coming back to me!

Sunday Round up!

There was a P&G saver insert in most papers today- if you need anything, let me know!  I don't clip anything from it.

For those who love frozen food, check out this deal.

Got kids (or child like adults)? Like Keebler Products?  Here is a great rebate/promo.  Toy vouchers!

Courtesy of Couponing101.com, a few great articles for those of you new to the whole money saving lifestyle.

This website is great- Bookmark it and you will always know what is in the insert coupons for the coming week- it will help guide your choices.  Buy one newspaper or 6??  (You think I'm kidding?  When there are high value Jet Dry coupons, I buy 4-6 papers.)

Free coupon for Herbal Essences.. GO HURRY... NOW!!!!

This is the time of year where there will be a lull in bargins and great sales.  Give it just a few weeks and it will pick back up!  Holiday sales and great coupons for baking and home cooking products will start to make appearances in papers and online, and there will be some great rebate opportunities.

sorry for the silence

Sorry I haven't been posting every day.  I had a car accident Sunday the 16th, and I haven't been felling up to doing much.

I mailed in my $10 Kellogg's Fuel for School rebate yesterday.  The $20 Kraft rebate was mailed in last week, so in 6-8 weeks, I'll have $30!

I hit the market Friday night to stock up, since our cupboards were a bit bare after the grocery challenge ended.  I bought a months worth of groceries for $87.72, and $10 of that is will coming back to me from the Kellogg's rebate.  We saved $55.00 with coupons and the store card.

I've been looking at milk prices and if you shop around- Henry's or CVS has the best milk prices in san diego.  If you pulled the Real California Cheese coupons that have been in the paper over the pas few months, there is a .50 off any 1/2 or full gallon of milk.  If you take it to a store that doubles (Ralphs or Vons), you'll save $1.00 on a gallon- that makes it cheaper than both CVS and Henry's.

FYI- Henry's accepts coupons- both Internet printed and insert.

Hope everyone is taking advantage of the great Back to School sales!
